BIOGRAPHY - REENA AHLUWALIA

Reena Ahluwalia — Canadian Jewelry Designer, Artist, and Professor. Known for the Legislative Mace of Ontario, her 2025 GJEPC Hall of Fame induction, Belgian postage stamp, and ultra-magnified diamond paintings

Reena Ahluwalia is a Canadian jewelry designer, artist, and professor. She is known for the diamond setting of the historic Legislative Mace of Ontario, a Belgian postage stamp featuring her work, her 2025 GJEPC Hall of Fame induction, paintings in the C. Krishniah Chetty Crystal Museum permanent collection, and co-creating a Guinness World Record watch.

Reena is recognized for her dual mastery — storied jewelry designs steeped in symbolism, blending precision with technological innovation, and ultra-magnified diamond paintings. For over two decades, her work in both mediums has explored inner brilliance, resilience, and the intertwined history of gems and humanity — tracing arcs of transformation, identity, and desire.

Her career is defined by landmark collaborations with national institutions, global luxury brands, and diamond mining groups. Her partners have included the Legislature of Ontario, the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the City of Antwerp, De Beers, Rio Tinto, Greenland Ruby, and the World Gold Council. She has also collaborated with prestigious houses such as Forevermark, Royal Asscher, Diarough, and Aaron Shum Jewelry. Her iconic creations include a tribute Diamond Tiara for Catherine, Princess of Wales, and in 2000, her award-winning diamond piece was showcased by Alexander McQueen during his New York runway debut.

Her hyper-realistic diamond paintings have been acquired by museums for their institutional credibility, including the Coronet Diamond Museum in Hong Kong and the C. Krishniah Chetty Crystal Museum in India.

As a professor and advisory committee member at George Brown College and a Fellow of the Institute without Boundaries (IwB), Reena is a respected design authority, jewelry historian, and blockchain innovator. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Financial Times, Forbes, Vogue, and the CBC. She resides in Toronto, Canada.
