"Never forget your real identity. You are a luminous conscious stardust being forged in the crucible of cosmic fire." -- Deepak Chopra

From the 'Diamond Portrait Series', this painting is the 'Portrait of Luminosity'. A bright and luminous oval cut yellow diamond of epic proportions!

Just like my jewelry creations, my diamond paintings tell a story. The 'Portrait of Luminosity' diamond painting is a tribute to life that is luminous and a beauty within us that we radiate. I hope as you look into the hypnotic depths of this painting, you see your luminous self reflected in it. After all, we are conductors of light, our true nature is luminous!

The yellow color of the diamond in this painting is no ordinary yellow. It is a Fancy Vivid Yellow! In the realm of fancy color diamonds, it is the most luminous of all colors. It's optimistic, warm and positive. I felt a deep inner joy as I painted this over a few months and I hope you feel the same as you view it.

Details create the big picture. If you are one who cares passionately about details, you will understand me here. The 'Portal of Luminosity' painting is 5-feet tall, highly nuanced with ultra-magnified facets.

Here are a few images of the painting and process! Enjoy...!

Bejeweled Maharaja and Maharani Paintings of Royal Mysore

The Bejeweled Maharaja and Maharani Paintings of Royal Mysore by Reena Ahluwalia. My paintings act as a bridge between the past and the present, reminding us of the significance these gems hold in Indian culture. I have painted the Maharaja and Maharani as beings with diamond-clad bodies, wearing historically accurate jewels. A reminder that we too are the modern-day Maharajas (king) and Maharanis (queen) of our own lives, and can leave a lasting legacy, as enduring and luminous as the diamonds and gemstones that grace the Maharaja and Maharani. The Royal Mysore paintings are in the permanent collection of the CKC Crystal Museum, in Bengaluru, India.
